Lip Enhancements

  • Why do lips lose volume?

As we age, we lose collagen which affects the skin’s elasticity and firmness, our lips also lose volume and become thinner. The decrease in collagen weakens the skin’s structure, resulting in a loss of volume and eventual deflation of the lips.

  • How to shape and define your lips?

Lip Enhancement can be used to add fullness to the lips or create balance and symmetry.

FAQs

In Australia, advertising regulations prevent us from disclosing the specific brands of Lip Enhancement Treatments we utilise and their cost.

Rest assured, our prices are very reasonable! Get all the care, hygiene and results without the beautician price tag.

For enhancements of 1ml our price starts from $360 for new clients. Note that most clinics advertise a lower price, but only for 0.5ml.

All treatments can only be performed after a practitioner-led consultation determining you are eligible for treatment.

If you are concerned by the size of your lips and wish to boost volume, minimise lip lines, define the lip border and enhance your lip shape, then you’re likely a good candidate for lip enhancement. Both men and women can undergo the treatment and you must be 18 years old and above.

Most patients respond well to lip enhancement treatments, even with repeated procedures over the years. However, like any medical intervention, there are temporary side effects to consider, such as swelling, redness, and bruising, which typically subside within a short period of time.

While rare, some patients may experience complications like infections or lumps. The good news is that the product can be reversed using a special enzyme in such cases.

In extremely uncommon instances, the product can be injected into blood vessels instead of beneath the skin, potentially causing blood flow blockage leading to skin damage . This is why you should always see a highly experienced cosmetic injector who knows how to avoid these complications.

It’s important to remember that lip enhancement is temporary and will eventually be absorbed by the body. The duration varies depending on factors like the product type, skin type, lifestyle, and age. Typically, lip enhancement lasts between six to twelve months, but some patients might metabolise the product quicker or slower.

There are numerous things that you should do to prepare for a lip enhancement treatment. The most important is to avoid anything that may thin the blood for around a week beforehand, including alcohol, ibuprofen, fish oil, omega 3, and vitamin E. If you are prone to cold sores, we recommend talking to your doctor about taking prophylactic medication before treatment. If you have had a recent vaccination, you will need to wait at least two weeks before scheduling a treatment.

At HBL Cosmetic Clinic, we always keep the treatment relatively comfortable by numbing the lips before administering Volume Enhancement Treatments. Many patients report feeling a slight pressure or stinging sensation as the product is injected; however, whether or not you find it painful will depend on the area treated and your own pain tolerance.

Each patient’s product requirement varies based on their natural lip shape and desired outcome. For a subtle enhancement, starting with a single syringe or 1ml is recommended. If you feel this isn’t sufficient, we recommend returning to HBL Cosmetic Clinic to explore additional product options. Your cosmetic injector will assess the Lip Enhancement Treatment during your consultation to determine the best approach for achieving your desired results.
